Katrina Adams Becomes First USTA President To Serve Second Consecutive Two-Year Term

The USTA has re-elected Katrina Adams to an "unprecedented second consecutive term" as Chair, President & CEO, according to Tennis Channel's Brett Haber. This is the first time in the organization's 135-year history that someone will serve a second consecutive two-year term in that position. Tennis Channel’s Paul Annacone said Adams “has been such a great voice for tennis” and has done a “great job for two years." Annacone: "It’s terrific she’s going to be back.” Tennis Channel’s Jimmy Arias: “She’s done such a great job.” Haber noted Adams, a former player who is the first African-American to serve as USTA President, has brought other former players in leadership roles in the organization. Haber: “She’s really changed the paradigm for leadership of our national tennis organization.” Annacone said, “To know that there’s someone in there with the player experience that’s seen that perspective is an incredible asset for the USTA, because they’ve got the support people to help drive it” (“Tennis Channel Live,” Tennis Channel, 11/16).
