Notre Dame Signs Multiyear Deal With Vivid Seats To Create New Resale Platform

Notre Dame has struck a multiyear partnership with Chicago-based secondary ticketing company Vivid Seats to create a new, university-branded resale platform. The Notre Dame Ticket Exchange, powered by Vivid Seats, is set to debut early next year and will also blend resale listings with primary inventory from the official Notre Dame box office that is supported by Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement. “We’re looking to provide a differentiated experience that is truly about Notre Dame,” said Notre Dame Associate AD/Ticketing, Premium & Technology Rob Kelly. “We also wanted to do something in the ticket resale area that goes well beyond a traditional sponsorship type of model.” Financial terms were not disclosed, but the Notre Dame deal adds to roughly two dozen partnerships Vivid Seats holds in college sports. However, none of the others includes a dedicated, branded resale site. The Notre Dame-Vivid Seats partnership also ties into several far broader university initiatives, including $400M Campus Crossroads project that features a series of renovations to Notre Dame Stadium, as well as revisions to the university’s football ticket lottery and season ticket renewal process. “Notre Dame is quickly moving to become an innovator, and we’re each going to learn a lot,” said Vivid Seats VP/Sponsorships A.J. Machosky. The Notre Dame Ticket Exchange will also offer a series of incentives to promote usage by fans, but neither side has disclosed yet what those offers will be. Kelly said Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick "really challenged us to rethink our common beliefs.”
