FROM THE LEADERSHIP PERFORMANCE INSTITUTE
THE DAILY today will begin highlighting best practices in leadership and management from our London-based partners, LEADERS. For the first installment, Leaders Performance Institute’s John Portch profiles Mercedes-Benz Motorsport Head TOTO WOLFF, who has overseen three F1 constructor’s championships since '13. Wolff: “We have seen the pressure increase almost unbearably on top level management on Formula One and that pressure can burst a pipe or it can make a diamond.” At the start of each year, Wolff oversees an intensive 48-hour offsite workshop where staff goals are established. Wolff: “We define our objectives; we look at our values; we look at our mission; visions; we look at functionality of the organization and we come out with a list of personal and professional objectives.” He added, “With every conversation I have, I try to become a better manager. Maybe the most important lesson is to be skeptical about yourself and your own abilities so that you find out where you are good and continue to develop your strengths.” Check out more profiles at the web site for the Leaders Performance Institute (Leaders).
