NBA Names In The News: Warriors, TNT Pay Tribute To Sager; NBA TV's Ledlow Robbed

The AP reported the Warriors and TNT will "begin the season with a tribute to sideline reporter Craig Sager." The net during its studio show tonight will unveil a T-shirt "inspired by the suit Sager wore while receiving the Jimmy Valvano Award at this year's ESPY Awards." Proceeds from the sale of the shirt "will benefit the SagerStrong Foundation." The Warriors will then "give their fans at their season opener against San Antonio a Sager Strong T-shirt" (AP, 10/24). The SagerStrong foundation will also "auction shoes specially designed" by Sager. The sneakers "fit Sager's unique style with paisley-print panels, a seersucker tongue tab and multicolored laces." The auction on the foundation website will begin tonight at 7:00pm ET and conclude Nov. 4. The 100 pairs of Nike iD shoes will be "custom-made in the auction winners' sizes at the close of the auction" (AJC.com, 10/24).

ROBBED AT GUNPOINT: NBA TV's Kristen Ledlow was "robbed at gunpoint Saturday at her Atlanta-area home." She "revealed the alleged crime in a series of social media posts Sunday evening." Ledlow claims that the men "knew her and were at her residence when she returned home." Ledlow, who is active on social media, said that she will be "taking a break from the platforms" (NYDAILYNEWS.com, 10/24). Ledlow in her social media posts said that the robbers stole "her Corvette, purse and phone," as well as "her 'sense of security'" (AP, 10/24).

NAMES: Nuggets G Gary Harris was profiled in the WALL STREET JOURNAL's "What's Your Workout?" feature, as for the third straight year, he "put himself through a voluntary high-intensity" workout at Red Rocks Amphitheater, developed by Nuggets strength-and-conditioning coach Steve Hess. Harris feels that training at 6,450 feet, as opposed to Denver's 5,280 feet, gives him "an extra edge on the court" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 10/25)....Warriors F Kevin Durant "logged onto Reddit" and asked users on a forum for Warriors fans for "advice on where to go in the Bay Area" (SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 10/25)....FS Southeast has collaborated with rapper T.I. to launch a new campaign promoting Hawks basketball on Fox Sports Go, featuring his song "Top Back." The promotional spots will debut Thursday (FS Southeast)....Free agent F Dahntay Jones "spent part of his summer working at Google" as part of the NBA's Career Crossover program (CRAINSCLEVELAND.com, 10/24).
