Executive Transactions

Nielsen Sports appointed DANNY TOWNSEND and GLENN LOVETT to the position of co-Managing Dirs. They will jointly report to Nielsen Sports & Entertainment President HOWARD APPELBAUM. Townsend and Lovett joined Nielsen in June following its acquisition of Repucom, where they served as Chief Revenue Officer and President of Global Strategy, respectively. MICHAEL O'HARA LYNCH will now serve as Head of Consulting for the Americas. He will also be responsible for global brand and sponsorship consulting. The North American business consisting of existing Nielsen Sports and Repucom clients will be combined and led by Market Leader for North America PETER LAATZ. The company also announced the appointment of STEPHEN MASTER, GUY PORT and MARCO NAZZARI as Regional Commercial Leads for the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe, respectively. Nielsen Sports also named MIKE WRAGG Global Head of Research, ALEXANDRE CALLAY Global Head of Media and MAX BARNETT Global Head of Digital. CLAUDE RINGUET will assume the same role as Head of Consulting for Asia. SPENCER NOLAN and JAN LEHMANN will serve as Heads of Consulting for Europe. Nielsen also named former Repucom Senior VP/Leagues for North America MICHAEL TANGE Global Head of Strategy & Solutions across the wider entertainment division. Finally, SHANE MATTISKE, who will now be the sole Managing Dir leading Australian and New Zealand business (Nielsen).

AROUND THE HORN: Red Sox Senior Baseball Analyst TOM TIPPETT is "leaving the organization to pursue other opportunities." He "first started consulting with the Red Sox" in '03 before joining full-time in '08 as Dir of Baseball Information Services. He was promoted to his most recent role in '13 (BOSTON GLOBE, 10/19)....The White Sox named MATT KOENIG Dir of Baseball Analytics. He has served as a consultant with the team since '13. He had previously served as a Partner & Dir of Technology with Geneva Capital since '01 (THE DAILY)....The Double-A Texas League Frisco RoughRiders named MICHELLE HARDMAN VP/Ballpark Events. The club also named JOHN KELTYTYLER MARCOTTEADAM SMITHKADEEM HUNTER and ALEJANDRO LUNA to positions in the ticketing department. They also promoted LISA GONZALEZGARRET RANDLE and KASEY CARLOCK to Premium Sales Managers and HILLARY ADAMS to Group Sales Exec (RoughRiders). 

EXECS: The Dolphins named Keep America Beautiful President & CEO JENNIFER JEHN Exec Dir of the team's foundation (Dolphins)....Motorsport.com named NASCAR Integrated Marketing Communications exec TIM SOUTHERS, who worked with NASCAR’s touring series, PR Manager (Adam Stern, Staff Writer)....WNBA Sparks F NNEKA OGWUMIKE was named President of the WNBPA Exec Council, and her sister, Sun F CHINEY OGWUMIKE, was named VP. They are joined on the committee by Dream G LAYSHIA CLARENDON as First VP,  Stars F MONIQUE CURRIE as VP and Storm G MONICA WRIGHT as Secretary-Treasurer (AP, 10/18).
