The Univ. of Texas and outdoor lifestyle products manufacturer Logo Brands have entered into a multi-year agreement. The partnership grants Logo Brands exclusive rights to produce and distribute UT products, including foldable chairs, portable tables and furniture, tents, canopies, flag poles, coolers, beverage tubs, stadium seats and cushions, deck umbrellas and portable shading and beach inflatables for varying outdoor environments (Logo Brands).

NEW BALL GAME: In Baltimore, Jeff Barker notes Under Armour "had been nibbling around the edges of the country’s three biggest sports leagues without becoming an official outfitter of game uniforms," so their agreement to outfit MLB is a "milestone." UA is "known for flourishes, for uniform designs pushing boundaries." But with MLB, expect a "heavy dose of the traditional blended with some new touches." UA's Notre Dame football uniforms "might be a guide" (Baltimore SUN, 10/19). CNBC's Mike Santoli said UA can "leverage" their MLB deal "somewhat better" than Majestic has. Santoli: "It gives them lots of visual real estate in front of a lot of people, though not as many people as you'd like" ("Closing Bell," CNBC, 10/18).

ENTER THE MATRIX: The WALL STREET JOURNAL's Mike Shields noted VR is "crucial for brands to start experimenting [with] as soon as possible." However, "don’t expect to have your marketing efforts pay off early on, and don’t expect to reach a mass audience for at least [a] year or two." Pepsi VP/Consumer Engagement Adam Harter “mentioned a VR experience the company tested” during the NBA All-Star Game where people were able to “create 3-D virtual art using Google’s Tilt Brush product” (WSJ.com, 10/18).
