Cowboys WR DEZ BRYANT and Texas state Sen. ROYCE WEST have "settled their differences after a series of lawsuits and countersuits." The legal issues began in June, when West sued Bryant over $60,000 in "alleged damage to a DeSoto home he had rented" to Bryant. Bryant countersued West a month later, accusing him of using Bryant's "celebrity status to attract endorsement deals to 'line his own pockets.'" Bryant said that West and an associate, DAVID WELLS, "stole more than $200,000 from him by getting marketing firms to pay them directly" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 9/27).

: In Green Bay, Richard Ryman profiled Packers VP/Marketing & Fan Engagement GABRIELLE VALDEZ DOW, who since joining the franchise in '14, has guided game-day operations, "specifically the programming of the Lambeau Field video boards, which now operate in sync with television production." Her staff includes "more than 30 full-time and, on game day, up to 500 part-time workers" (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 9/24).

HELPING HAND: NFL Giants WR ODELL BECKHAM JR. on his website Saturday announced that he plans to donate $500,000 to Louisiana to help "rebuild football fields and programs impacted by the recent floods." Beckham was born in Baton Rouge, attended high school in New Orleans and went to college at LSU (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 9/25)....NASCAR driver JOEY LOGANO’s eponymous foundation on Friday made a $10,000 contribution to the Manchester (N.H.) Police Athletic League. Logano said that it is the “best way for him to give back and make a statement” (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 9/24)....The LeBron James Family Foundation on Friday announced that it will “provide long-term mentoring and tutoring to kids in its program, through partnerships with Signet Jewelers and the United Way program” (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 9/24).

NAMES: NFL Jets Owner WOODY JOHNSON was in attendance at last night's Presidential Debate between HILLARY CLINTON and DONALD TRUMP at Hofstra Univ. (POLITICO.com, 9/27). Mavericks Owner MARK CUBAN also was at the debate, and he said of his presence in regards to Trump, "I knew that it would get under his skin and drive him crazy. Mission accomplished" (DALLASNEWS.com, 9/26)....Sixteen more women have "filed criminal complaints" against former USA Gymnastics team physician DR. LARRY NASSAR in the two weeks since the Indianapolis Star "reported sexual abuse allegations" against him. Nassar "gained prominence through his 29-year tenure" with the national governing body, a position he "left last September" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 9/26)....KRIV-Fox Sports Dir MARK BERMAN was inducted into the Houston Baseball Media Wall of Honor. He is currently celebrating his 30th year at the network (Astros)....WILLIAM FULTON, a fan "claiming to be injured by debris" from a wreck involving NASCAR driver AUSTIN DILLON in July '15 at Daytona Int'l Speedway, has "dropped his lawsuit against the track and NASCAR" (ESPN.com, 9/26)....CBS cameras followed Patriots WR JULIAN EDELMAN "to Shake Shack on Newbury Street" in Boston, his "go-to place for burgers." Edelman said that he "gets one burger a week, two if the Pats win" (BOSTON GLOBE, 9/25).
