Wheels & Deals: Great Clips Extends Sponsorship Of Hendrick Motorsports, Kahne

Great Clips yesterday announced it extended its sponsorship through '18 of Hendrick Motorsports and the No. 5 Chevrolet team of driver Kasey Kahne in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The new two-year agreement secures sponsorship of the No. 5 Chevrolet for 10 events annually. Great Clips also will be an associate sponsor of the No. 5 team each year. Great Clips became a first-time Sprint Cup primary sponsor with three races in '13 and then grew to 10 primary races annually in '14 (Hendrick Motorsports). 

WHATCHA GONNA DO? New Hampshire Motor Speedway yesterday announced Bad Boy Off Road as title sponsor of Sunday's Sprint Cup Series race. Bad Boy Off Road, a Textron Specialized Vehicles brand, is a primary sponsor for NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick (NHMS). 

ROGER THAT: USA TODAY's Brant James noted team Owner Roger Penske bringing Menards aboard as primary sponsor for driver Simon Pagenaud "demonstrated the gulf between not only the haves and have-less, but the upper crust" of the Verizon IndyCar series. Target’s "ubiquitous red and white bulls-eye will be peeled from four-time champion Scott Dixon’s livery as the sponsor, after a 27-year relationship with Chip Ganassi Racing in IndyCar, opted to focus solely on his Sprint Cup team" (USA TODAY, 9/20). 

STAY MELLOW: Dodge has signed on to become title sponsor of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event at Maple Grove Raceway in Pennsylvania. The 32nd annual Dodge NHRA Nationals will be held Sept. 29-Oct. 3 and is the third event in the six-race NHRA Countdown to the Championship (NHRA).
