In Columbus, Tim May notes "plans for a commemorative T-shirt" honoring a catch by Ohio State WR Noah Brown in Saturday's game against Oklahoma "had to be scuttled." Ohio-based Salt N' Light Apparel yesterday on its Facebook page unveiled a red T-shirt with two lines that read, "Need a hug? I NOAH guy," as well as an "illustration of two hands gripping a football." But Salt N' Light later yesterday posted: "Per OSU's request, we've taken down the shirt and orders are no longer being accepted. We're very sorry but want to be respectful of OSU's wishes" (COLUMBUS DISPATCH, 9/20).

OUTFITTING ZEBRAS: In Baltimore, Jeff Barker notes Under Armour has been "negotiating deals to outfit game-day officials working" within FBS. Analysts said that it is a "typical" UA move --"opportunistically carving out less-traveled territory to compete with Nike." UA's pursuit "began with a deal with the SEC" about four years ago. Before UA came along, college football officials were "outfitted by a variety of brands" (Baltimore SUN, 9/20).

ONE OF THE GREATS: ESPNW's Greydy Diaz noted prior to WNBA Indiana Fever F Tamika Catchings' final regular-season game on Sunday, Nike Basketball on its social media platforms "paid tribute to Catchings by reminding the world of her greatness on the basketball court -- and more importantly, off of it" (ESPNW.com, 9/18).
