L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti said that the team "would also pay for other city workers whose services are incurred at football games, such as firefighters and trash collectors" (L.A. TIMES, 9/14).
THE COLOR PURPLE: In Minneapolis, Rochelle Olson notes tickets for Sunday night’s Packers-Vikings game "are white hot." SeatGeek yesterday reported the average resale value for the game, which marks the regular-season debut of U.S. Bank Stadium, was $447, surpassed in the market only by the resale price of tickets to the '14 MLB All-Star Game at Target Field. Because of the "high interest, buyers should be especially cautious about counterfeit tickets on the secondary market." The 66,200-seat stadium has been "officially sold out for the entire season for weeks" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 9/14).
GETTING POLITICAL: In San Diego, Luis Gomez noted the Chargers' loss to the Chiefs on Sunday "does not present a pretty picture for the team's stadium proposal." And now the Chargers' new podium backdrop, which reads "Vote Yes On C," referring to the Measure C stadium proposal, is "just the latest sign of the team's media effort to get people to vote in favor of its proposal: to build a brand new stadium on 14 acres of land near downtown San Diego" (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 9/13).
CARSON CITY: THE RINGER's Claire McNear profiled Eagles Exec VP/Football Operations Howie Roseman, a "football Lazarus hell-bent on becoming something even rarer than a resurrected GM -- a household name." Just when "everyone thought he was done," Roseman "found a way to pop back out." And Roseman’s fate now "rests in the hands of rookie" QB Carson Wentz (THERINGER.com, 9/13).
