Overnight Ratings: Battle At Bristol Leads CFB Week 2; U.S. Open Down From '15

The Battle at Bristol on Saturday night led all Week 2 college football games on TV. The Tennessee-Virginia Tech matchup on ABC drew a 3.6 overnight rating. That game went up against ESPN's Arkansas-TCU matchup, which went to double OT and drew a 1.4 overnight. ESPN's top cable CFB audience this past weekend was Penn State-Pitt in the 12:00pm ET window, drawing a 1.7 overnight. ABC's Tulsa-Ohio State matchup led all 3:30pm window games, drawing a 2.8 overnight (excludes rain delay from 5:45-6:30pm). CBS in the 3:30pm window drew a 1.6 overnight for Kentucky-Florida, while NBC drew the same rating in the window for Nevada-Notre Dame.

STAN IN THE PLACE WHERE YOU WORK: ESPN yesterday from 4:00-8:30pm ET drew a 1.4 overnight for Stan Wawrinka's win at the U.S. Open agianst Novak Djokovic, down from a 2.4 last year for Djokovic's win over Roger Federer in primetime due to a rain delay (7:00-11:00pm). The 1.4 overnight also is down from CBS' 1.9 rating in '14 for Marin Cilic's win over Kei Nishikori on a Monday. Meanwhile, ESPN on Saturday afternoon drew a 1.3 overnight for Angelique Kerber's win over Karolina Pliskova, down from a 1.5 last year for Flavia Pennetta's win over Roberta Vinci.
