Reds Attendance Down MLB-Worst 23%, While Mets, Cubs See Big Increases At The Gate

The Dodgers, Cardinals and Giants are tops among all MLB teams at the gate with just under a month remaining in the regular season, but all three teams are down slightly from their respective '15 averages despite remaining in the playoff hunt. The Dodgers are leading all MLB clubs in average attendance for the third straight season, drawing 45,382 fans per game to Chavez Ravine. NL attendance has been hampered in part by the Reds' sharp drop, with average attendance at Great American Ball Park down around 23% compared to the same time period last season. The team is averaging 31,048 fans, ahead of only the Braves and Marlins. In July, the Braves played a home game against the Marlins in a temporary stadium at Fort Bragg, N.C., with an attendance of 12,582. The NL East-leading Nationals are down 4% to date, while the Mets lead all NL clubs in gains, with attendance up 12% at Citi Field.
