Subscription Ticket App For Sporting Events Makes Debut In Atlanta Market

Atlanta "will be the first market in the country" with access to a new subscription-based sports ticket app with the launch of Inwego, according to Chris Vivlamore of the ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION. Inwego offers tickets to a "variety of local sporting events at a moment's notice for a monthly fee." For $29 a month, fans "will have the ability to attend" games for many local teams, including the Hawks, Falcons, Braves, MLL Blaze, WNBA Dream and Georgia Tech. In addition, the local PGA Tour and NHRA events "are included." Inwego was "created and will be managed" by Atlanta-based ticketing outfit Experience, which has deals with nearly 75% of all pro teams. There is "no limit to the number of events a user can attend a month." The tech also "allows a group to attend and sit together." Once inside, fans "have a number of other options, including ticket upgrades." Users can "get a list of live events and can make an instant decision to attend, even up to the last minute." New markets "will soon be considered." Hawks CEO Steve Koonin said, "Research has shown that young people are not necessarily planners to go to a game weeks in advance. We see tremendous utilization of the app on weekend games and featured games where people are saying, 'What do you want to do tonight?'" Georgia Tech Associate AD/Sales & Fan Experience Rick Thorpe said, "The millennials are the largest segment of our population now. They are an on-demand constituency" (AJC.com, 9/7).
