Former figure skater MICHELLE KWAN "has the unique role of being both celebrity surrogate" and HILLARY CLINTON campaign staffer. Kwan’s official role with the campaign is Surrogate Outreach Coordinator, which "basically means it’s her job to wrangle Clinton’s high-profile backers, including stars like KATY PERRY, LENA DUNHAM, and MERYL STREEP." Kwan: "It’s easy to identify people who are supporters." Kwan "searches social-media sites looking for famous people who have tweeted supportive things about Hillary Clinton and reaches out on behalf of the campaign." Kwan "spends most days at Hillary’s campaign headquarters in Brooklyn," but also travels the country for Clinton "as a surrogate herself" (NYMAG.com, 8/28).

SHOES TO MATCH THE SUITS: Nike has captured TNT sideline reporter CRAIG SAGER's "unique style in a limited edition Air Jordan sneaker." Hip-hop artist DJ KHALID, who posted a picture of the sneakers on Instagram, wrote that "only two have been made." It is unclear "whether more would be made." It is "not the first time Nike has honored Sager with a shoe." In March '15, the shoemaker offered Sager some "sweet styles for his return to the sideline following his TV absence while he sought treatment" (AJC.com, 8/29).

THREAD COUNT: UFC fighter CONOR MCGREGOR's tailor from David August clothing, DAVID HEIL, said that McGregor "drops between $4,000 to $10,000 on each custom suit he orders." Heil added that McGregor "picks up eight to ten outfits for every media tour he does for the UFC." In other words, McGregor "could be spending anywhere from $32,000 to $100,000 on his custom suits for each engagement when he's promoting an upcoming fight" (FOXSPORTS.com, 8/29).

NAMES: Former Dodgers Owner FRANK MCCOURT, who sold the baseball team for $2B in '12 to Guggenheim Baseball Management, is "buying" Ligue 1 club Olympique de Marseille (AP, 8/29). Sources said that McCourt "agreed to pay" about US$56M for the soccer club (FT.com, 8/29)....Former NFLer RAY EDWARDS, who has transitioned to boxing, yesterday “signed a promotional agreement" with VITO MIELNICKI’s GH3 Promotions. Edwards played seven season in the NFL but “took up boxing as a hobby” during the ‘11 NFL lockout. Edwards “will have his first fight of the new agreement on Sept. 15” on CBS Sports Net (ESPN.com, 8/29)....MIKE TYSON, Vogue Publisher ANNA WINTOUR, actress SUSAN SARANDON and actor ALEC BALDWIN were on hand on Day 1 of the U.S. Open yesterday (NEWSDAY.com, 8/29)....Former NFLer CALVIN JOHNSON will appear on Season 23 of ABC's "DANCING WITH THE STARS" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 8/30)....Sources said that former Rutgers Dir of Player Development ERIC MURDOCK's wrongful termination lawsuit against the school "has been settled." Two sources said that Murdock was "rewarded a $500,000 settlement" (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 8/30)....Former USC and Cal State-L.A. AD MIKE GARRETT yesterday was "accused of sexual harassment" by Cal State-L.A. Senior Associate AD SHEILA HUDSON. Garrett allegedly "called female employees 'babe,' 'sweetheart,' 'love,' and 'legs'" (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 8/30).
