Mark McClusky Leaving Wired To Return To Time Inc. As Digital Editor Of SI Group

Time Inc. has hired Wired.com's MARK MCCLUSKY as Digital Editor for its SI Group. McClusky will lead digital strategy, news gathering, social and video for SI, Golf, SI Kids and SI Swimsuit. He will report to Time Inc. Sports Group Editorial Dir CHRIS STONE and Time Inc. Digital Dir WILL LEE. McClusky will also be heavily involved with SI’s interests in the FanSided Network it owns as well as Time Inc.’s partnership in 120 Sports and the newly formed digital content and sales partnership with Fox Sports. He previously worked for SI from ’94-99, beginning his career there in a variety of roles including reporter and associate editor (Eric Fisher, Staff Writer). ADWEEK's Richard Horgan noted McClusky will start at SI on Sept. 26. During his first tenure with the publication, he "was a founding editor of the SI website and also a member of the team that put out the Sports Illustrated Olympic Daily" during the '96 Atlanta Games (ADWEEK.com, 8/25). WWD.com's Alexandra Steigrad noted McClusky has been at Wired.com for 10 years, serving at the website's editor from '13-15 "before moving to the role of head of product and business development." He also served as Wired's "special projects editor, the founding editor of Wired's Playbook, a sports and technology blog and managing editor of the site, among other roles" (WWD.com, 8/25).
