NFL Marketing Notes: Tom Brady Launches, Sells Out Line Of Healthy Snacks

ESPN.com's Darren Rovell noted Patriots QB Tom Brady on Monday "launched a line of snacks -- 12 1.4-ounce packages of organic fruit and nut combinations sold in a box -- for $50." The TB12 brand by yesterday afternoon had "already sold out" of the snacks (ESPN.com, 8/23). CSNNE.com's Phil Perry noted Brady's boxes of snacks, which are vegan, organic and gluten-free, include "two types of bar (Blueberry Crunch and Amazon Crunch), two types of 'energy squares' (Superfood and Cacao Goji), a coconut and dark chocolate combination, almonds and cashews" (CSNNE.com, 8/23).

SO FRESH & SO CLEAN: In Cincinnati, Barrett Brunsman noted P&G has hired Broncos LB Von Miller as "the face" of its '16 NFL ad campaign for Old Spice deodorant and body washes. P&G did not reveal "how much it paid to become such an NFL sponsor or what it will pay Miller to be a brand ambassador." The NFL is the "second-biggest sports marketing effort of P&G behind its sponsorship of the Olympics." P&G did not mention what "sort of ad campaign Miller will be featured in" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/23).

HOUSEWARMING PARTY: The Rams yesterday announced American Airlines as the team’s latest local sponsor. The club now has four sponsors, and expects to announce around 10 "homecoming partners" before the start of the regular season. The team’s sponsors now are Corona, Cedars-Sinai, Albertsons Vons & Pavilions and American Airlines. Genesco Sports advised the last three on their Rams’ deals. The Rams are signing only three year deals, worth each in the seven-figure range annually (Daniel Kaplan, Staff Writer).

YELLOW SUBMARINE: In Milwaukee, Melanie Lawder reported the Packers and Wisconsin-based Cousins Subs have "entered into a three-year partnership." The deal "spans across digital, email, social and traditional broadcast mediums." A company spokesperson said that it also "includes in-stadium signage for Cousins and web-based consumer promotions." The last time Cousins Subs and the Packers partnered together "was more than 15 years ago" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/23).
