Dolphins Hope To Finalize Naming-Rights Deal Soon, With Hard Rock Int'l In The Mix

The Dolphins are "hoping to finalize a deal for stadium naming rights in the next few weeks," and Hard Rock Int'l "remains a top contender," according to Barry Jackson of the MIAMI HERALD. Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross said that he hopes for Hard Rock "to be part of the stadium's name." Ross: "We have a lot of other different opportunities, but I like the (brand) name" (MIAMIHERALD.com, 7/31). In West Palm Beach, Hal Habib noted Ross predicted the Dolphins' stadium "will be ready for the Sept. 1 preseason game" against the Titans, which "will be the first event in the renovated structure." Ross: "I know we will be playing." Ross said that even though games will be played in early September, "minor work, including cosmetic, will continue as the regular season starts" (PALMBEACHPOST.com, 7/29). Ross said, "There is no backup plan." He added that he "believes every home game will be a sellout" in '16 (MIAMI HERALD, 7/30).
