NFL Franchise Notes: UC-Irvine To Get $10M For Three Years Of Rams' Training Camp

In L.A., Nathan Fenno reports the Rams will pay UC-Irvine about $10M to "host the team's training camp for three years, with an option for two more." The lease "covers the use" of a host facilities. The Rams also get "exclusive use of BC's Cavern on the Green dining hall." UC-Irvine will "charge the team $46 per player for each dinner this year" (L.A. TIMES, 7/28).

CASH IS KING: The Chiefs yesterday announced "parking enhancements" for the '16 season. In K.C., Pete Grathoff notes general parking, which "involves paying cash," is being combined with the Red parking lot. The Chiefs said that this will "reduce the time it takes to enter the Truman Sports Complex." The team also noted parking prices at the tollgates on gameday in '16 "will be $40 cash to incentive purchasing in advance." The $40 fee is subject to change based on the game, while the advanced purchase price of $30 is fixed" (K.C. STAR, 7/28).

WHO DAT HELPING: In New Orleans, Amos Morale III notes the Saints yesterday "rolled up their sleeves" to help volunteers clean up Villa Park in Greenbrier County, W.Va. The players, in town for training camp, "pressure-washed tennis courts, cleared rocks from the football and baseball fields, painted and helped rebuild a playground that was damaged in the flooding that ravaged the area recently." It was good for Saints players to be able to "help out a community that is working to recover, much like New Orleans did after Hurricane Katrina" (New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE, 7/28).
