Sources: Wizards Will Hold Training Camp At VCU After Annapolis Falls Through

The Wizards "will be headed back" to VCU for training camp after plans to stage it at the Naval Academy "fell through," according to sources cited by J. Michael of CSNMIDATLANTIC.com. The agreement to return to VCU "hasn't been completed such as how much of camp -- just part or all of it -- will be held there." Complications with security at the Naval Academy "prevented the Wizards from keeping camp, which begins Sept. 27, in Maryland." The team in the early '00s "routinely held camp at VCU" (CSNMIDATLANTIC.com, 7/25). The Wizards last year held training camp at Towson Univ. near Baltimore "before bringing it to the Verizon Center" (RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH, 7/26).
