Overnight Ratings: NBCSN Down Slightly For Brickyard 400; UFC Up For Fox Telecast

NBCSN led all sports telecasts over the weekend with a 2.8 overnight rating for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Brickyard 400 yesterday, but that figure is down slightly from a 2.9 last year and down from a 3.2 overnight on ESPN in '14. NBCSN on Saturday afternoon also drew a 1.0 overnight for the Xfinity Series race from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Last year's race aired on NBC (1.5 overnight).

LADIES' NIGHT: Fox on Saturday night drew a 1.9 overnight for the broadcast net's 20th UFC primetime card, which for the first time was headlined by a female bout (Valentina Shevchenko-Holly Holm). That figure is flat compared to "UFC on Fox 16" last July, which was headlined by T.J. Dillashaw-Renan Barao. "UFC on Fox 12" in July '14 drew a 1.6 overnight for a card headlined by Robbie Lawler-Matt Brown. Meanwhile, Fox yesterday afternoon drew a 0.6 overnight for the Mopar Mile-High Nationals, which was the NHRA's first telecast on broadcast TV in its 65-year history. The live telecast had a lead-in from an MLS match -- Red Bulls-NYC FC -- which drew a 0.4 overnight.

ROYAL TEE: CBS yesterday drew a 1.7 overnight for the final round of the PGA Tour RBC Canadian Open, which saw Jhonattan Vegas win by one stroke over Dustin Johnson, Martin Laird and Jon Rahm. CBS last year drew a 2.1 overnight for Jason Day's one-shot win over Bubba Watson. That remains the net's best final round since reacquiring the event in '07. Day, the top-ranked player in the world, finished tied for 14th this year.
