Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross Begins Annual Business Symposium For Team's Players

Dolphins Owner STEPHEN ROSS earlier this month invited five current players to a "three-day business seminar" in N.Y. in what will be an annual symposium "open to any Dolphins player with interest," according to Adam Beasley of the MIAMI HERALD. The Dolphins players -- DT EARL MITCHELL, DE CAMERON WAKE, S RESHAD JONES, LB JAMES-MICHAEL JOHNSON and OT SAM YOUNG -- "got a behind-the-scenes look at Ross' many interests, as well as a tour of the NFL's main office." Beasley noted the players "were serious about maximizing the experience." It was a "commitment of both time and money" as airfare and lodging "weren't provided." At the NFL's HQ, the players met with NFL Exec VP/Football Operations TROY VINCENT and "heard a presentation from a 'legends panel' that included" former NFLer CHAD PENNINGTON. RSE Ventures co-Founder & CEO MATT HIGGINS, who oversees Ross' sports assets, "spent several hours with the group at RSE's start-up incubator." Higgins said, "The biggest thing that I wanted them to take away is, 'You have an access at your disposal.'" The players "valued" their time with Ross, as he "led several of the meetings himself" (MIAMI HERALD, 7/23).
