Buyers & Sellers: Twins' Joe Mauer Pays $6.2M For Five-Bedroom Minneapolis Lake House

Twins 1B JOE MAUER has "paid cash" for a $6.2M Minneapolis home. The 6,700-square-foot home sits on 3.1 acres and has "five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a garage for eight vehicles." The house located on Lake Minnetonka has "115 feet of shoreline" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 7/21). Mauer "doesn't plan to use the home as his primary residence" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 7/20). 

HALL PASS: Tennis HOFer PETE SAMPRAS has put his L.A. home on the market for $8.9M. The 6,900-square-foot residence has "six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms." It includes a "resort-style swimming pool ... a library and theater room plus a wine cellar" (LATIMES.com, 7/20)....Hockey HOFer IGOR LARIONOV put his $3.4M Detroit mansion up for sale. The "custom-built home" features 7,779 square feet, five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and two half-baths. The home includes a "wine room, exercise room and a faux ice rink" (DETROIT NEWS, 7/15)....Basketball HOFer KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR put his L.A. home up for sale for slightly under $3M. The 3,200-square-foot multilevel house, built in '00 and "since remodeled, sits next door" to late Baseball HOFer ERNIE BANKS (LATIMES.com, 7/20).

BUYERS & SELLERS: NBA Kings F CARON BUTLER bought a home in L.A. with a "basketball half-court" for $2.13M. The 5,700-square-foot home has a "total of five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms." The two-story house is "set behind gates" and is "loaded with outdoor amenities." It includes a 900-square-foot guest house, putting green, a saltwater swimming pool and a "large covered pavilion complete with an outdoor dining area, bar and kitchen" (LATIMES.com, 7/15)....Former Magic coach JACQUE VAUGHN has sold his two-story Orlando home for $1.86M. The 5,243-square-foot home was built in '08 and includes "five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a half bathroom" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 7/18)....NBA Exec VP/Basketball Operations KIKI VANDEWEGHE and wife PEGGY, have put their L.A. home on the market for $4.95M. The couple "bought the property six years ago" for $2.25M. The single story, 5,773-square-foot home has "five bedrooms and five bathrooms" (LATIMES.com, 7/15)....NFL free agent RB REGGIE BUSH sold his Detroit house for $1.9M. The home, built in '98, includes a "floating wood-and-glass staircase" that runs between each floor and a "lower-level lounge with a game/media room" (LATIMES.com, 7/19)....49ers K PHIL DAWSON is selling his Austin home for $2.35M. The 6,354-square-foot, seven bedroom, six bathroom property "features a detached 2-story guest house" and a sport court, among "many other amenities" (SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 7/14).
