Bloomingdale's Plans To Partner With Odell Beckham Jr. To Release Sportswear Brand

Bloomingdale's is partnering with Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. on a "sportswear line that will launch in September," according to Jean Palmieri of WOMEN'S WEAR DAILY. The line, 13 x twenty, is being "produced by knitwear brand Twenty Tees, a collection created by David Helwani." The brand, named after Beckham's jersey number, will be "exclusive to the retailer." Bloomingdale's VP/Men's Fashion Direction Kevin Harter admitted that Beckham was "originally 'on the fence' about creating his own collection 'but really wanted him and waited for him to say yes.'" The collection of "ath-leisurewear includes knitwear basics that range from sweatpants and hoodies to T-shirts and jackets" (WWD.com, 7/20).

BACK AT IT AGAIN: THE UNDEFEATED's Jill Hudson noted if all goes well for former NFLer Terrell Owens, his apparel line, Prototype 81, "will be sold online and at brick and mortar retail outlets." Owens on Monday "previewed eight full looks of the collection" that is set to "launch next spring." The apparel is "expected to average around $90 retail." Owens said, "I wanted to have a brand that's cool and affordable." He added, "If you see some of my pieces in this collection, they're a little different and unique with the colors and patterns. Based on what I've seen guys wear in the gym, people aren't afraid of being fashion-forward or wearing pops of color, prints, color blocking" (THEUNDEFEATED.com, 7/21).
