Overnight Ratings: NBCSN Down For NASCAR; LPGA Toledo Event Almost Matches U.S. Open

NBCSN yesterday afternoon drew a 2.0 overnight rating for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race from New Hampshire, down from a 2.3 overnight last year. Dale Earnhardt Jr. sat out yesterday's race with concussion-like symptoms. That figure topped the 1.6 overnight for last night's Red Sox-Yankees on ESPN. That 1.6 rating for Red Sox-Yankees is above the 1.5 for the same ESPN "Sunday Night Baseball" matchup on May 8. Red Sox-Yankees also drew a 1.8 on "SNB" on May 1.

TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT? Yesterday afternoon also saw CBS draw a 0.9 overnight for the final round of the LPGA Marathon Classic from Highland Meadows Golf Club near Toledo. That figure is down only slightly from a 1.0 overnight last weekend for the final round of the U.S. Women's Open on Fox, which had its finale go into primetime. CBS also did not carry the entire final round yesterday, as a playoff forced the event to switch over to Golf Channel for the conclusion.
