Erin Andrews Re-Signs With Fox, But Leaves MLB Coverage In Favor Of NFL-Only Role

Fox Sports' Erin Andrews "has re-signed" with the net for multiple years, but as part of her new deal, she will "no longer be part of" its MLB coverage, according to Richard Deitsch of SI.com. Andrews instead will "focus solely on the NFL moving forward." Andrews was initially hired by Fox in July '12 to host "Fox College Saturday," but was "soon moved away from college football." She "retained a high-profile role on Fox's MLB coverage, including the World Series, where she served as a field reporter and host of the on-field trophy presentation." That assignment "has now concluded" (SI.com, 7/14). AWFUL ANNOUNCING's Ian Casselberry noted fulfilling her MLB duties was "likely difficult during the past couple years for Andrews" due to her co-hosting role on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." The show "has two seasons per year, one in the spring and one in the fall, with the latter running at the same time as the MLB postseason and NFL regular season." That conflict "has now obviously been eliminated" (AWFULANNOUNCING.com, 7/14).
