Players' Tribune Signs Samsung As First Content Partner In Technology Space

The Players’ Tribune has signed Samsung as its latest corporate content partner and its first in the tech space. Financial terms were not disclosed, but it is a content collaboration partnership under which TPT will produce athlete-driven, short-form 360-degree videos and photography using Samsung Gear 360, the company’s high-resolution camera. Broncos LB Von Miller and Heat C Hassan Whiteside have been tapped by TPT to capture content using Gear 360 at exclusive sports and industry events. The content will be published on TPT platforms and social channels, as well as Samsung VR, the company’s premium virtual reality content service beginning today as athletes hit the ESPYs red carpet. TPT President Jaymee Messler said the deal provides the media company’s contributors with the tools they need to create “innovative, premium content” and fans the ability to connect with athletes “through immersive stories and unique visual experiences.” The deal is the latest corporate content partnership announced by TPT this year. The media company also has signed deals with American Family Insurance, Budweiser and Tyson Foods.
