The Children's Museum of Indianapolis said that it "has nearly reached its fundraising goal" of $35M to "create a 7.5-acre onsite sports park, a third of which would go toward an endowment for keeping the attraction up to snuff." The fundraising efforts included appearances by Colts QB ANDREW LUCK. The Colts meanwhile will "sponsor the project's football experience, which will include activities for children and families on a miniature football field." Other sponsors included the Herb Simon Family Foundation and NASL club Indy Fuel (IBJ.com, 6/29).

THE GOOD STUFF: JACK NICKLAUS is working with the Turning Point Golf Invitational to help Cornerstone Schools raise money for expansion in Detroit. A dinner with Nicklaus the night before the tournament held in August "is $2,500 each." The rate to play is not publicized (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 7/1)....The DETLEF SCHREMPF Foundation on Monday "raised nearly $900,000 at its 23rd annual gala Ripple of Giving golf tournament and auction" at Glendale Country Club in Bellueve, WA. Attendees included NBA TV's BRENT BARRY, Seahawks WR JERMAINE KEARSE and former NBAer TODD MACCULLOCH (BIZJOURNALS.com, 6/29)....The Green Bay Chapter of the NFL Alumni Association "pulled in $31,300 at its fifth annual Green Bay NFL Alumni Sporting Clays Event" on May 5 (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 7/1)....The LA84 Foundation yesterday announced it is awarding nearly $2M in grants to 46 youth sports organizations in Southern California (LA84). 

NAMES: Louisiana Inspector General STEPHEN STREET said that Horizon Entertainment & Productions received more than $1M in tax credits "for expenses that were inflated or never incurred in the making of 'THE SEAN PAYTON SHOW' and a reality television show that never aired" (NOLA.com, 6/30)....The Tigers are "selling the couch" from manager BRAD AUSMUS' office at Comerica Park for $1,000. Former 49ers COO ANDY DOLICH will be "offering his expertise to the team" (FOXBUSINESS.com, 6/30)....Rams Owner STAN KROENKE and five other developers are "interested in developing an 1,800-acre site" in Maryland Heights, Mo.
