In Louisville, Jeff Greer reported as part of the Univ. of Louisville's most recent apparel deal with adidas, which was signed in '14, there is a clause "that the two sides have to agree" on a one-year extension option by July 1. However, it is "unclear if they have done that." UL AD Tom Jurich said that he and his staff "will have ongoing conversations over the next two years, and when the time comes to sign a new deal, Louisville will be in a 'very, very good, strong position.'" Jurich: "We want to continue to grow our program, not to look at what other people are going to do for you." UL's deal "runs through" the '17-18 school year with "an option to add another year to the contract" (Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL, 5/27).

PREGAME TAILGATE: In L.A., Sam Farmer noted Rams RB Todd Gurley is featured in a "burger commercial for Carl’s Jr." titled "Welcome to California." The ad, which was slated to debut yesterday, promotes the California Classic Double Cheeseburger and "co-stars comedian Jay Mohr as Gurley's agent." Gurley, walking with Mohr through the halls of a swanky agency, "signs a football, poses for a selfie with some fans, and takes a big bite of the burger his agent provides him" (LATIMES.com, 5/27).
