Weekend Plans With Red Sox CMO Adam Grossman: Daddy Daycare, Fenway Park

Red Sox Senior VP & CMO ADAM GROSSMAN this weekend will be adding the role of Daddy Daycare. With his wife participating in a U.S. Open golf qualifier in Chicago in hopes of landing a spot on the Brazilian Olympic Team, Grossman will be left fending for himself as he watches his two young daughters. But he already has a plan in place. He said, “If I can have a nap sequence where they are synchronized napping, that is always a great goal.”

THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT: My Saturday will start somewhere between 5:30-6:30am with the pitter patter of feet running into my bedroom to wake me up. I will make pancakes for the kids and then probably take them to the playground. We have a game Saturday afternoon against the Indians at 4:05pm. I am originally from Cleveland, which is nice poetry. After the game, I will run home, put the kids to bed and hopefully try to watch a movie. But I will most likely fall asleep within the first 30 minutes.

SOX NATION
: I usually bring my kids to the ballpark on Sundays. We will probably be there around noon and eat at the park. It serves two purposes. First, it allows our kids to have fun, but we at the Red Sox are also focused on growing the next generation of fans. We have a parental focus group and I like to see my kids interact with the new amenities and see if those are working for them. Our mascot, Wally, and his sister, Tessie, have a big clubhouse that goes on between the third and seventh inning every game. As much as my daughter loves baseball, she loves getting her face painted more.

IT KEEPS YOU RUNNIN’: I really love running with my dog. Boston is a great running city. I also do the Pan-Mass Challenge every summer, which is the largest athletic fundraiser in the country. It is a 192-mile bike ride that raises over $40M a year for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I will start training for that on the weekends as well. Being from Cleveland, I keep in touch with the Browns and hope every Sunday. My wife and I both went to Duke. We follow the Duke basketball team pretty closely.

IF I HAD A HAMMER: We moved to a new house recently. There is a lot of housework that I am totally incapable of doing. I think about buying a toolbox often, but I have not quite done that yet. Both my wife and I like to cook, especially in the summer time. It is great to get the grill going again. Grilling steaks and fish would be my favorite. The seasons here in New England allow for different activities. Exploring the area when we have some downtime is a fun treat for us to get out of the city.

WORKING REMOTELY: Sunday nights are usually a really good time to get caught up on email and sort of prepare for Monday morning. That is kind of my time. It does become a little harder when “GAME OF THRONES” is in season. It is sort of appointment TV. That and “VEEP” are the two shows that I religiously watch.
