Infront Sports & Media appointed CLAUDE RUIBAL as Exec Dir of its newly aligned digital, production and sport solutions business unit. The unit aims to drive innovation in traditional TV production, deliver growth in new digital properties, create new content formats, new distribution models and partnerships, as well as leverage existing social platforms to increase audiences and revenue streams. Ruibal will report to Infront Sports & Media President & CEO PHILIPPE BLATTER (Infront).

EXECS: IIHF President RENE FASEL "has been re-elected," continuing his "22-year spell in charge." Fasel "ran unopposed and was elected unanimously at a congress in Moscow" (AP, 5/19). Meanwhile, Oilers Entertainment Group Vice Chair & CEO BOB NICHOLSON was unanimously re-elected as VP of the IIHF Council. Nicholson will continue his mandate representing the Americas on a four-year term (OEG)....Syracuse Univ. General Counsel DAN FRENCH will operate as the school's interim AD until SU "finds a permanent replacement" for MARK COYLE (SYRACUSE.com, 5/19)....Learfield Sports named IMG Senior Account Exec PAUL MICHINARD GM for Patriot League Sports Properties (Learfield)....N.Y.-based Inner Circle Sports hired Strategic Advisory Group Principal DAVID ABRAMS to focus on sports facilities and related development (ICS)....Illinois-based The Specialized Marketing Group named former Bulls Exec VP/Business Operations STEVE SCHANWALD VP & CMO of its strategic consultant division (TSMGI).
