Titans Owner Strunk Continues Showing Commitment To Team, Will Buy Area Home

Titans Controlling Owner & BOD Chair Amy Adams Strunk, who "heads a group of family members that have been attempting to comply with the NFL’s rules regarding ownership structure since her father died" in October '13, "expects to close on a property" in the Nashville area this month, according to a source cited by Jason Wolf of the Nashville TENNESSEAN. The pending transaction was first reported by ESPN. However, Strunk "plans to continue to make her home in the suburban Houston town of Waller, Texas." She and her sister, Susie Adams Smith, "each own" a 33% stake in the Titans. Strunk "has become more visible in recent months" (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 5/7).

KEEPING UP APPEARANCES: In Nashville, Jessica Bliss noted nearly 400 fans on Wednesday lined up at a local Kroger "starting around sunrise for a chance to meet" Titans QB Marcus Mariota and other teammates. A three-city stop -- a Kroger in Columbia, Tenn., a Buffalo Wild Wings in Florence, Ala., and an Academy Sports in Decatur, Ala. -- marked Mariota's "first experience on the Titans Caravan, a seven-day bus tour that shuttles different Titans players across the region." This year the caravan "scheduled stops in 18 cities over seven days, going as far north as Bowling Green, Ky., and as far south as Decatur." Three players "go on each caravan ride," and the last swing took place Saturday in Knoxville, Chattanooga and Murfreesboro, Tenn. Bliss noted it "had been years ... since this kind of crowd has come to meet the players" (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 5/7).
