Warriors' Record-Tying Win Draws All-Time Best Audience For NBA TV, CSN Bay Area

NBA TV on Sunday night drew a network record 2.6 million viewers for Warriors-Spurs, passing the previous record set by the same matchup in January (1.4 million viewers). The game, in which the Warriors tied the NBA record with 72 wins in a season, was blacked out in the S.F.-Oakland-San Jose and San Antonio markets. NBA TV’s telecast peaked at 3.7 million viewers from 9:00-9:15pm ET and led all cable TV sports telecasts for the night. ESPN’s "Sunday Night Baseball” featuring Yankees-Tigers was called off for rain earlier in the day. The NBA app yesterday also saw 939,000 unique visitors in the U.S., setting a new regular-season record. Meanwhile, CSN Bay Area drew a record-setting figure for the matchup. The RSN averaged an 18.47 local rating in S.F.-Oakland-San Jose, topping the previous record of 16.1 for the teams' last meeting. Monday night's figure is likely to be topped by the Grizzlies-Warriors game on Wednesday, as the Warriors look for a league record 73 wins. FS Southwest also drew a 15.34 local rating in San Antonio for the game, marking the RSN's second-best Spurs regular-season game on record. The only game to draw a higher figure was Spurs-Lakers from December 28, 2010, which averaged a 17.81 local rating. FS Southwest finished its slate of Spurs games for the '15-16 season averaging an 8.73 local rating in San Antonio, up 8% from an NBA-best 8.09 rating last season.
