Dolphins Launch New Web-Based Programming To Replace TV, Radio Programs

With offseason workouts beginning Monday, the Dolphins "will launch a series of web-based programs, including a daily news show, long-form interviews and live break-ins," according to Adam Beasley of the MIAMI HERALD. The programs "will be available to fans through Dolphins.com, the Dolphins mobile app, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and YouTube." The team Friday "ended its daily television and radio program," and now it "has a new approach: reach its fanbase instantly and directly." Press conferences "will be streamed live across all platforms," and a "rotating group of hosts will present fans with a daily recap of news." On the first day of the NFL Draft, the Dolphins "will debut 'The Audible,'" which features long-form conversations, interviews and social media interaction (MIAMI HERALD, 4/2).

LEAVING ON A JET PLANE? In N.Y., Bob Raissman reported SNY is in a "contract stalemate" with anchor Brian Custer. Sources said that SNY has "yet to reach agreement with Custer who for 10 years has ... hosted three shows: 'Jets Extra Point' as well as 'Jets Gameday' and 'Jets Postgame Live.'" Custer's portfolio has "expanded significantly, working boxing and college hoops for a variety of networks," but his "will and skill have been a big part of Jets shows" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 4/3).
