MLB Season Preview

MLB Clubs Plan Most Bobblehead Giveaways For Fans In At Least A Decade

MLB teams will combine to give away 147 different bobbleheads this season, according to SBJ/SBD's analysis of promotional schedules published on each club's website as of April 1. Most teams adjust their promotional schedule throughout the season, but if all goes as planned, '16 would generate the most bobblehead dates since SBJ/SBD began tracking all MLB gameday promotions and giveaways in '06. It would also be the sixth straight season that bobbleheads topped the list of items most frequently given to fans by MLB clubs. The Marlins will hand out a bobblehead at every Saturday home game this season, leading the league with 14 such giveaways. One the other end of the spectrum, the Padres do not currently have a bobblehead listed on their schedule. In both '14 and '15, the Padres were the only MLB club that did not give fans a bobblehead, and did so just once in each season from '11-13.
