Snack On This: Minor League Baseball Makes Uncle Ray's Its Official Potato Chip Sponsor

Minor League Baseball has signed a multiyear partnership with Detroit-based potato chip and snack maker Uncle Ray’s that will see the brand become MiLB’s official potato chip. The affiliated minor league's logo will be placed on more than 100 million bags of chips to be sold nationwide at key retailers. Uncle Ray’s product also will be sold at MiLB ballparks. The deal is the second major sponsorship in five weeks for MiLB -- following one announced last month with John Deere -- as the property reorganizes its Project Brand efforts under new CMO & Chief Commercial Officer David Wright. “MiLB provides the opportunity for Uncle Ray's to step onto the national stage in a way that is perfectly aligned with our values of hometown fun and family orientation,” said brand VP/Marketing & Sales Brian Gaggin. Uncle Ray’s also will sign local-level deals with several individual MiLB clubs to supplement the national level partnership. Today's deal announcement was specifically timed for National Potato Chip Day.
