Audience Analysis: Warriors Again Boost ABC, NBA TV; Second NASCAR Race Lower

Warriors games continue to be a boon for broadcasters. ABC finished with 5.32 million viewers on Saturday night for the team’s OT win over the Thunder, marking the most-viewed, non-Christmas NBA regular-season game on any net since ’13. Warriors-Thunder also was the most-tweeted sports event for the week ending Feb. 28, according to data from Nielsen Social. Just over 1 million tweets sent out about the game were seen by 6.7 million people (three hours before and three hours after the telecast. A peak of 38,200 tweets were sent out at 11:26pm ET as Warriors G Stephen Curry hit the game-winning three-pointer in OT. Meanwhile, NBA TV drew 684,000 viewers for Hawks-Warriors on Tuesday night, which saw Curry sit due to injury. That telecast still marked NBA TV’s third-best audience this season to date. Each of NBA TV’s top five games this season to date have been Warriors games.
