Dancing On The Ceiling: Hornets Unveil Images Of New Center-Hung Video Board

The Hornets unveiled images of their new center-hung video board this morning at Time Warner Cable Arena. Yesco, a division of Samsung, is producing the new board at a cost of $7M, paid for by the city of Charlotte, the arena's owner. The new board, which will be installed this summer, is 180% bigger along the sidelines and 50% bigger in the end zones compared with the facility's original center-hung board. Additionally, the video upgrades cover new auxiliary screens in the corners of the upper deck, something the arena does not currently feature. Elsewhere in the NBA, Yesco has produced center-hungs for the Jazz and Spurs. AECOM, the architect designing the arena's ongoing $34M renovation, as well as consultant Anthony James Partners, worked on the Hornets' video board.
