Cowboys Sell Out Of New Club Memberships, Establish A Waiting List

All 800 of the initial memberships in the new Cowboys Club at the team's The Star in Frisco complex "have sold out, prompting the team to create a waiting list and mull expanding the roster," according to Karen Robinson-Jacobs of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. The team sold out of memberships on Saturday evening. Membership in the club, which is scheduled to open in September, "costs a family a one-time fee of at least $4,500 plus $350 a month" (DALLASNEWS.com, 2/15). Cowboys season-ticket holders "had a two-month window" starting in November to buy memberships in the club, while the general public "was able to buy in beginning Jan. 12." Cowboys Exec VP/Business Operations Chad Estis said that there are family and corporate memberships "available, and a 'high percentage' have been purchased by Collin and Denton County residents." Club membership "includes perks such as valet parking, and access to members-only spaces" at the $1B development, which includes the Cowboys' HQ and training center. The club will "overlook the Cowboys practice fields, and the Ford Center field." Club members also will "be allowed to attend coach, executive and player talks covering business and football operations." Corporate memberships "have tiered pricing on the initial fee based on the number of people getting access." For two to four people the "one-time fee would be $4,000 each" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 2/13).

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: Cowboys Exec VP & Chief Brand Officer Charlotte Jones Anderson on the team's new HQ said, "There will be a lot of technology and media associated with what we're doing. The heart of where we are is the plaza area and this what I like to say is where Main Street meets Time Square." Jones Anderson, speaking with KRLD-FM, said, "In inundated with big video boards, as you can imagine. If you can just imagine on Friday night when everybody is come out for high school football with their families and their friends and they're walking down Star Boulevard, which is our main street, you've got these giant LED video boards and they're showing the starting lineup of the high school players (with) one on each side, and the team's big rivalry, and the big marching band down the plaza. It's all electric and they go in for the greatest Friday Night Lights game ever" (DALLASNEWS.com, 2/14).
