Audience Analysis: ESPN2's CFP "Film Room" Down, But "Homer Telecast" Up For ESPNU

ESPN2’s “Film Room” saw a dip in viewership during the Alabama-Clemson CFP National Championship. The alternative feed drew 227,000 viewers this year, down from 294,000 last year for the Ohio State-Oregon matchup. The initial “Film Room” feed during the ’14 Florida State-Auburn BCS National Championship drew 100,000 viewers on ESPNews. ESPN2 that year aired a “Title Talk” alternate feed with Jemele Hill and Michael Smith, drawing 389,000 viewers. Meanwhile, ESPNU this year aired a “Homer Telecast” for the first time. That drew 231,000 viewers for an alternative feed featuring former players from Alabama and Clemson. The figure is up from “ESPN Voices” on ESPNU in ’15, which drew 146,000 viewers. Figures for ESPNews’ feed of “ESPN Voices” this year was not available at presstime.
