Warriors' 23-0 Start Providing Audience Lift For All National TV Partners, CSN Bay Area

The Warriors' record-setting start to the NBA season -- now at 23-0 heading into Friday night’s matchup against the Celtics -- has been a big lift for national networks, as well as local RSNs. TNT is averaging 2.27 million viewers for the four Warriors games it has aired so far. That figure is up 37% compared to TNT’s average for all NBA games this season to date. ESPN also has aired four Warriors games, two of which were added after the season started (and one of those was blacked out locally). Those four games have averaged 1.8 million viewers, up 18% over ESPN’s average for all games this season. NBA TV’s Warriors games, all of which are blacked out locally, are averaging 526,000 viewers to date, up 70% over the net’s season-to-date game average. Tuesday’s Warriors-Pacers matchup drew 823,000 viewers on NBA TV, marking the net’s best game audience this season to date and fourth-best game audience ever. Also of note was that the game marked NBA TV’s best audience ever among males 18-34 and 18-49. Looking at the S.F-Oakland-San Jose market, local ratings on CSN Bay Area for Warriors games are up 87% compared to last season. The team is averaging a 7.06 local rating in the Bay Area, fueled by eight of the RSN's top 10 best Warriors game audiences ever occurring during the current win streak. Leading the way was the 9.59 local rating for Warriors-Nuggets on Nov. 22, which marked the highest-rated game in CSN Bay Area history, including playoff games. In addition, CSN BAy Area's "Warriors Pregame Live" audience is up 35% and its "Warriors Postgame Live" is up 133%.
