Rob Gronkowski Continues Sponsorship Expansion, Signing On With Monster Energy

Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski has "signed a multiyear endorsement deal" with Monster Energy, according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.com. Financial terms "were not disclosed." Gronkowski in a statement said Monster "just fits my personality." Monster VP/Sports Marketing Mitch Covington said, "Rob perfectly fits into our strategy of signing unique, elite athletes. We love what he does in the games, but we also love that he likes to party." Rovell noted Gronkowski "joins the likes" of Triple Crown-winner American Pharoah, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, NASCAR driver Kyle Busch and UFC fighters Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor as "major names that have signed deals" with Monster. Doing the deal "wasn't that easy -- it required Gronkowski to stop doing endorsements" for Body Armor. But he will "still keep his shares in the company." No one "has done more deals of late" than Gronkowski, who has signed partnerships with SMS Audio (headphones), Dunkin Donuts and DraftKings (ESPN.com, 11/21).
