What Time Is It? Time For Tissot To Sign Sponsorships With Five NBA Teams

Tony Parker's signature Tissot watch sells for $1,200
New NBA sponsor Tissot has signed sponsorship deals with five teams to support its new leaguewide pact under which the watchmaker became the NBA’s first official timekeeper. Team deals are in place with the Bulls, Heat, Knicks, Lakers and Spurs. While Tissot's branding on NBA 24-second clocks is expected this season, a new timing system across the NBA will not be in place until the '16-17 season. “We’re honored as the NBA’s first timing partner and we think our commitment to the sports and innovation can really lift the brand here," said Tissot President Francois Thiebaud, inside his company’s Fifth Ave. store in N.Y. He added that the global reach of the NBA was an important factor in choosing a U.S. sports sponsorship. Tissot has been a FIBA partner since '08. Tissot has had Spurs G Tony Parker under contract as an endorser for several years and it sells a Parker signature watch for $1,200. The watchmaker hopes to have a new TV, digital, radio and print campaign in place in a matter of weeks and will sell NBA team-branded watches in time for holidays, ranging from $500-1,000.
