Welcome To The Jungle: Lions Offer Marketing Contest For Local Businesses

The Lions and Michigan-based Int'l Bancard Corp. "have organized a business contest called the International Bancard Business Bowl that allows the winner to use the team logo in marketing materials and that could include messaging during games at Ford Field," according to Bill Shea of CRAIN'S DETROIT BUSINESS. Entrants will "make a pitch" to Lions and Int'l Bancard execs on "what a relationship with the football team would mean to their business." Finalists "will be announced in November," and the winner "will be unveiled in early November." The team said that the winning company’s signage or messaging component "will be tailored to the winner’s needs." Shea noted that it could include "in-stadium fixed signs, digital messaging on the LED boards, participation in events and stadium public address announcements." The winner also "will get exposure on DetroitLions.com and will be allowed to call themselves the 'Official ___ of the Detroit Lions.'" International Bancard is the Lions' official credit card payment processing company (CRAINSDETROIT.com, 10/5). The Jaguars in July announced a similar deal with Web.com (THE DAILY).
