Seattle Pest Control Company Taps Seahawks' Lynch For Playful New TV Spots

Seattle-based Stop Bugging Me Pest Control yesterday announced a partnership with Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch. The deal includes 30-second spots featuring Lynch being asked a series of questions by reporters, followed by his response, "Stop bugging me." The spots were produced by marketing agency The Line Collective (Stop Bugging Me). SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Liz Mullen reports Lynch "has three national commercials airing now -- with Pepsi, Skittles and Xbox -- and two more have been shot and are scheduled to air by the end of October." The Pepsi spot "garnered more than 744,000 views on YouTube last week." Relativity Sports agent Doug Hendrickson said that companies are attracted to his client's "indomitable 'real' personality, in addition to his penchant for not speaking to the press, including at the last two Super Bowl media days." Hendrickson: “A lot of these ad campaigns are based on that." Hendrickson said that he and Relativity Football Marketing Dir James Barry have "turned down many deals for Lynch." Barry said of Lynch’s future deals, "He does have commercials coming out in late October with some brands we can’t announce yet and some deals we can’t announce yet” (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 9/28 issue).
