In Green Bay, Richard Ryman reports Green Bay/Brown County Professional Football Stadium District members yesterday were told that construction at Lambeau Field and the '16 LSU-Wisconsin football game "will preclude a summer concert" from being held in June. The Packers "will be renovating suites at Lambeau and have said they prefer one major non-Packers event in the bowl each year." LSU-Wisconsin, to be held in September, "is next year's big event." The focus of the Packers' $55M renovation over the next two years "is to add operable windows to private suites." The work "will be done over the next two off seasons." PMI Entertainment Group President & CEO Ken Wachter, whose company promotes concerts, said that future shows at the venue "are likely" (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 8/27).

WE'RE GOLDEN: Minnesota Senior Associate AD/Strategic Communications Chris Werle anticipates that despite recent reports, the school will be "breaking ground" on its $190M Athletes Village project "by late fall," and added that an ongoing federal Title IX investigation "should not stop the project from moving forward." In St. Paul, Fuller & Shipley report the Board of Regents "will be presented a plan for approval at the board's Oct. 9 meeting." The school said the Board presentation was pushed back from September "to allow for a few details to be finalized, primarily the schematic designs and plans for a competition-level track" (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 8/27).

SPURRING THEM ON: In San Antonio, W. Scott Bailey reported Spurs Sports & Entertainment and Bexar County "struck a deal" with Iowa-based Musco to "bring new LED sports lighting technology" to the AT&T Center. Musco "will install more than 200 state-of-the-art luminaries and more than 40,000 LEDs featuring advanced individual optics." The new system "will create a better environment for HD broadcasts and is expected to reduce energy consumption at AT&T Center" by as much as 78% (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/26).
