Time Inc. Sports Group Brings On CBS Digital's Patty Hirsch To Fill DeLorenzo's Former Role

Hirsch will manage SI's ever-growing
network of digital sites
Time Inc. has named CBS Digital Media GM PATTY HIRSCH VP & GM/Digital for its Sports Group, with oversight to include to SI.com, the Fansided Network and related properties such as SI Edge, the newly launched Campus Rush and the forthcoming SI Films site. Hirsch replaces JIM DELORENZO, who left in February to become Relativity Media President of Digital Strategy & Acquisitions. Time Inc. originally intended to name a replacement for DeLorenzo much sooner, but the company conducted an extensive national search during the spring and summer. Hirsch will report to Time Inc. Senior VP/Digital M. SCOTT HAVENS and work closely with SI Group Editor PAUL FICHTENBAUM and Time Inc. Sports Group Publisher BRENDAN RIPP. A key part of Hirsch’s responsibilities will include day-to-day management of what has quickly become a sprawling network of SI digital sites. At CBS, Hirsch had a similar role helping lead a large collection of college athletic department sites. She started at Time Inc. yesterday, and her appointment will be announced internally today. “We continue to explore new verticals as part of our network and push a growth mode, and Patty has exactly the kind of experience we need to take the next step,” Havens said. The Time Inc. Sports Group also hired the following: Univision Sports Digital Program Manager SHANKAR TRIPATHI as Dir of Digital Business Development; USA Today Sports Head of Mobile KRYS KRYCINSKI as Head of Product; and former ESPN Associate Art Dir MATT WALKER as Senior UX/UI Designer.
