So Nice We'll Do It Twice: NFL Draft Heading Back To Chicago In '16

The league this afternoon plans to announce the '16 NFL Draft is returning to Chicago. Over 200,000 fans attended the Draft Fan Festival in Grant Park this April, far exceeding original estimates. N.Y. had hosted the Draft since the '60s, but the venues were limited in how they could accommodate large fan and sponsor events. The league moved the Draft to Chicago for the first time this year. L.A. had been in the mix for the Draft, but the success in Chicago clearly went a long way to bringing it back. The deal is for one year. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will make the announcement at 12:30pm CT at the Hyatt Regency in Schaumberg, Ill., where owners are meeting to discuss potential relocation to L.A. The '16 NFL Draft is scheduled for April 28-30.
