Overnight Ratings: HOF Game Gives NBC Best NFL Preseason Figure Since '12

NBC drew a 6.9 overnight rating for Vikings-Steelers in last night's Pro Football HOF game, marking the best figure for an NFL preseason game since Panthers-Jets drew a 7.5 overnight on August 26, 2012. Vikings-Steelers is up 19% from a 5.8 for the Giants-Bills HOF game last year and gave NBC a win for the night in primetime. Minneapolis-St. Paul led all markets with a 22.6 local rating, while Pittsburgh ranked second with a 19.6. Rounding out the top five were New Orleans (11.4), Tulsa (10.4) and Albuquerque-Santa Fe (10.2). Meanwhile, ESPN drew a 0.6 overnight for the HOF Enshrinement Ceremony. That figure is flat compared to ESPN2's coverage last year.

TIRE KINGDOM: CBS drew a 2.7 overnight for the final round of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, which saw Shane Lowry win by two strokes over Bubba Watson. That figure is down from a 3.1 last year, when Rory McIlroy held off Sergio Garcia and down from a 3.9 in '13, when Tiger Woods won by seven strokes.
