Attorney and former NBA exec JARED BARTIE "has joined Herrick, Feinstein, bolstering the law firm's sports practice." Bartie, who "most recently was with Arent Fox, will bring his mix of team and sports industry clients to Herrick." His clients include the Yankees, YES Network, NYRA, Top Rank and Legends (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 7/27 issue).

EXECS: Former NFL Network exec CHARLES COPLIN has been hired to launch a national sports channel in Russia. Coplin, who held media positions with the NFL, NHL and ABC Sports, was hired by Gazprom Media/NTV-Plus to launch an over-the-air sports channel in the country. News of Coplin’s move was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, which said that the channel is expected to launch Sept. 1 (John Ourand, Staff Writer)....Stats LLC Dir of Marketing NICK STAMM has left the company after serving in the position for 17 years to take a similar role with industry rival Sportradar US. Stamm will relocate to Minneapolis, where Sportradar US is based, and start in mid-August. Stamm reunites with Sportradar Chief Commercial Officer STEPHEN BYRD, who formerly worked as Stats co-COO (Eric Fisher, Staff Writer)....Fanatics named Amazon Dir of HR for Digital Devices KAREN RUBY Senior VP/HR (Fanatics)....Charlotte-based Sonic Automotive promoted SCOTT SMITH to CEO, "taking over for his father, BRUTON SMITH," who will become Sonic's Exec Chair. Bruton Smith "will report to the board of directors in his new role" (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 7/27)....Oregon State Univ. named ZACK LASSITER Deputy AD/External Operations.
