Fox Sports To Shop L.A. Memorial Coliseum Naming Rights For USC In Six-Year Pact

Fox Sports "has signed" a six-year deal with USC to sell naming rights for the L.A. Memorial Coliseum, according to Don Muret of SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL. Fox "has formed a new two-man division called Coliseum Sports Properties to handle the marketing of naming rights and other stadium partnerships." USC Sports Properties Dir of Sales Matt Wells "is managing daily operations" and Fox last month named Delaney Gallagher Dir of Corporate Relations, "where he is responsible for selling partnerships for the school and the coliseum." USC Sports Properties VP & GM Dan Shell "would not say how much money Fox is asking" for naming rights, which "could fetch anywhere" from $3-7M a year depending on several factors. They "include a major renovation that’s planned to start" in '18 (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 7/13 issue). A school spokesperson said that the deal "does not guarantee that rights would be sold" (L.A. TIMES, 7/16).
